B.Ed is successfully running in the Laxman Singh Mahar Govt.Degree College Pithoragarh from 1973 vide Government Order No. 2-9-5/28-2-72 dated Lucknow/03/10/1973, in one batch under Govt. seats. Total intake in one batch is 50 seats with 5 seats under EWS by the State Government. B.Ed. is a two year degree course approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide Letter No. F.No./NRC/NCTE/UP-223/2015/122497-501 dated 03/09/2015, Jaipur (under NRC) & affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital vide Letter No. – KU/Affil/201. All the students who have appeared and passed in the Entrance Examination conducted by Kumaun University, Nainital are eligible to be considered for admission in this course, which is on Merit Basis.
Examinations are conducted by Kumaon University every year.

Land and Building.
The area of land in possession is 10736.315 sq. mtrs. while the built up area is 1500 sq. mtrs. There are 9 number of constructed buildings , 35 rooms, 1 multipurpose Hall, 12 Labs and 1 play ground in the College. The College is equipped with 1 Library enriched with more than one lakh of text and reference books. A collection of reputed journals is also housed in a seperate Hall (UGC Reading Hall) for the benefits of the students. Digitization of Library is proposed and we are trying our best to implement a digital Library.
